Contract of Carriage : Rule 115
FREE BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
The free baggage allowance is the maximum number, size and weight of bags that each customer is allowed with no additional charge. Baggage will be weighed and measured to ensure that it meets the dimensional requirements under the free baggage allowance under this rule and subject to the conditions of acceptance in Rules 97, 100, and 105.
  1. International Travel - between the United States and International locations including Pago Pago, American Samoa (PPG).
    International baggage rules will apply for entire trip, including domestic segments regardless of stopover, providing the itinerary includes at least one ticketed international point (SYD/MNL/PPT/PPG/ICN), or ticket is cross-referenced with verifiable international travel sectors.
    1. The following are definitions of terms as used in the table below:
      1. The number of pieces that will be carried free and the maximum outside linear dimensions and weight of each piece are provided in the table.
      2. The term “one item” (used to describe certain articles to be carried free) is defined in Rule 100 for each article to which it is applicable.
      3. Duffel bag is defined as a canvas cylindrical shaped bag, folded and fastened at one end.
      4. Sea bag is defined as a canvas cylindrically shaped bag, closed at one end by means of draw ropes.
      5. B-4 bag is defined as a suitcase type handbag made of canvas with leather and metal bindings and fittings and with expandable canvas compartments on the two sides of the bag.
  2. Free Baggage Allowance
    1. Baggage is measured by adding length, width and height to determine the total number of linear inches/centimeters.
    2. HA will accept baggage up to a maximum of 70 pounds (32 kg) and a total linear dimension of 62 inches (157 cm) per piece at no charge for travel between the USA and PPT/MNL/SYD/ICN.

      HA will accept baggage up to a maximum of 50 pounds (23 kg) and a total linear dimension of 62 inches (157 cm) per piece at no charge for travel between the USA and PPG.

        Basic Allowance One Item
      PPG Two (2) bags One type of sporting equipment in addition to basic allowance.
          One oversize baggage in lieu of basic allowance.
      NOTE: Baggage weighing 51-70 lbs. will be charged 50.00 USD per overweight piece for travel between Hawaii and PPG and 100.00 USD per overweight piece for travel between the Continental USA and PPG. Baggage in excess of 70 lbs. will not be accepted.
           
      All International Travel Two (2) bags One type of sporting equipment in addition to the basic allowance
          One item of oversize baggage in lieu of basic allowance.
      NOTE: Baggage in excess of 70 lbs/32 kg will not be accepted.
      Maximum weight for carryon is 25 lbs./11.5 kg.

      Note: If passenger is flying on a code share flight, they must check with the operating carrier for maximum acceptance rules as they may vary.
    3. Free Baggage Allowance for Children
      1. Children paying at least 50 percent of the adult fare receive the same baggage allowance as adults.
      2. Children carried without charge will not be granted a free baggage allowance.
    4. Articles Carried Free In Addition to Stated Maximum
      In addition to the maximum allowances provided in paragraphs (1) and (2) above, each fare-paying passenger may carry, without additional charge, the following articles of baggage only when retained in the passenger's custody (except item H which also may be checked):
      1. Handbag or Pocketbook
      2. Overcoat or Wrap
      3. Foot Rug
      4. Umbrella or Walking Stick
      5. Camera and/or a pair of binoculars
      6. Reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight
      7. Infant's food for consumption enroute
      8. Collapsible wheelchair and/or crutches and/or braces or other prosthetic devices on the same flight with passenger dependent on the device
      9. Any assistive device or mobility aid
  3. Pooled Baggage
    When two or more passengers traveling to the same destination on the same flight present themselves and their baggage at the same time and place, their maximum allowance will be the sum of their individual maximum allowances. Baggage in excess of the combined maximum allowance will be subject to the excess baggage charge.
