Contract of Carriage : Rule 200
ACCEPTANCE OF CHILDREN
  1. Accompanied Children and Infants
    Children under 15 years of age are accepted for transportation when accompanied same flight and in the same compartment by a passenger at least 18 years of age.

    Fares for accompanied infants and children will be charged provided:
    1. Infants under 2 years of age are accompanied by a passenger 18 years of age or over, paying the applicable adult fare;
    2. Only one infant is permitted to accompany each passenger paying the applicable adult fare in order to apply the infant's charge in paragraph A.4 below; NOTE: Infants in excess of one accompanying an adult passenger will be charged in accordance with accompanied children’s fare in applicable paragraph A.4.a.iii or A.4.b.iii below;
    3. Children 2 years of age or over but under 12 years of age are accompanied by a passenger 18 years of age or over, paying the applicable adult fare.
    4. Percentage shown shall be applied to the applicable adult fare
      1. When travel is between PPG/PPT and the U.S.A.
        1. Accompanied infants under 2 years of age not occupying a seat will be charged applicable one-way or roundtrip fares published for infant without seat.
        2. Accompanied infants under 2 years of age occupying a seat will be charged 67 percent.
        3. Accompanied children 2 years of age or over but under 12 will be charged 67 percent.
      2. When travel is between SYD/MNL/ICN and the U.S.A.
        1. Accompanied infants under 2 years of age not occupying a seat will be charged applicable one-way or roundtrip fares published for infant without seat.
        2. Accompanied infants under 2 years of age occupying a seat will be charged 75 percent.
        3. Accompanied children 2 years of age or over but under 12 will be charged 75 percent.
    5. Accompanied children under the age of 15 but over the age of 12 shall pay the applicable full adult fare.
  2. Unaccompanied Children
    Not Permitted.
  3. The age limits referred to in this rule shall be those in effect on the date of commencement of carriage.
  4. Documentation Requirements
    All children under the age of 18 must have the necessary entry documents for the destination country. HA will not be responsible for checking validity of such documents.
    1. For travel from any point in the U.S. to Manila, Philippines, and Pago Pago, American Samoa a child under the age of 18 may travel with any accompanying adult 18 years or older, or unaccompanied if over the age of 15, provided all governmental entry requirements for the destination country are met.
    2. For travel between any point in the U.S. and Sydney, Australia, and Papeete, Tahiti, a child under the age of 18 may travel if:
      1. Traveling with both parents.
      2. Traveling with one parent who is in possession of a notarized letter dated within 30 days from the first leg of the itinerary stating the following:
        1. they have the permission of the child's second parent to take the child to/from an international destination(s) when required by the laws of the Destination country;
        2. the itinerary of the trip; and
        3. the duration of the trip.
      3. The accompanying adult is in possession of a notarized letter stating that he/she is the only legal parent of the child and has a birth certificate that reflects the same information. If the accompanying adult is the legal guardian of the child he/she must also be in possession of a filed stamped document from the court identifying him/her and stating his/her status as the sole legal guardian.
      4. The accompanying adult is in possession of a notarized letter stating that he/she, though having a different last name from the child, is the parent/legal guardian of the child and has permission from the child’s second parent to take the child to/from an international destination(s).
      5. The accompanying adult is a relative or family friend and is in possession of a notarized letter stating that he/she has the permission of the child's parents and/or legal guardians to take the child to/from an international destination(s).
    For all international travel, although not required, HA recommends that the accompanying adult ALWAYS have in possession a notarized letter stating that he/she has the permission of the child's parents and/or legal guardians to take the child to/from an international destination(s).
  5. Emergency Contact Information
    Children traveling under the age of 18 accompanied but without both parents must provide HA with emergency contact information.
