Contract of Carriage : Rule 202
MEET AND ASSIST PASSENGER SERVICE
  1. Meet and Assist Service (MAAS) is available to passengers age 15 and above for transportation between the Continental USA/Hawaii and International points or for qualified individuals with a disability. In addition to the full adult fare applicable to such passengers, when Meet and Assist service is requested the applicable charges that follow will also apply.
     
    1. A mandatory surcharge of $50.00 USD will be assessed for one-way nonstop, direct service.
    2. A mandatory surcharge of $100.00 USD will be assessed for one-way connecting service from HA to HA.

    EXCEPTION:  Meet and Assist Service is not available to/from Manila (MNL).

    Note: Qualified individuals with a disability who request Meet and Assist Service are exempt from all charges.
  2. RESPONSIBILITIES OF CARRIER. For the purpose of this rule, Meet and Assist Service means that HA will provide supervision to meet and assist passengers from the time of boarding until the passenger is met at the time of deplaning at the stopover point or destination. HA will not assume any financial or guardianship responsibility for any passenger requiring the Meet and Assist Service.
  3. MAXIMUM FLIGHT CONNECTION TIMES
    The maximum allowable ground (connection) time between flights for all Meet and Assist Service will be 2 hours.

    Exception: If the next scheduled connecting flight exceeds 2 hours, Meet and Assist Passengers must be booked on the next scheduled flight that same day and will not be allowed on a later flight. If that flight is not available for sale the passenger will not be accepted for travel on that date and must be booked on another day where these conditions can be met.
  4. DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
    All children under the age of 18 are required to possess necessary entry documents and must be traveling with both parents.

    Exception: Under the following conditions, a child under the age of 18 may travel accompanied to/from an international destination(s) without both parents:
    1. The accompanying adult is a parent of the child and is in possession of a notarized letter stating that they have the permission of the child's second parent to take the child to/from an international destination(s) when required by the laws of the Destination country.
      1. As of October 1, 2008, the following Hawaiian Airlines destinations require a notarized letter, as described above: Sydney, Australia and Papeete, Tahiti.
    2. The accompanying adult is in possession of a notarized letter stating that he/she is the only legal parent of the child and has a birth certificate that reflects the same information. If the accompanying adult is the legal guardian of the child he/she must also be in possession of a filed stamped document from the court identifying him/her and stating his/her status as the sole legal guardian.
    3. The accompanying adult is in possession of a notarized letter stating that he/she, though having a different last name from the child, is the parent/legal guardian of the child and has permission from the child’s second parent to take the child to/from an international destination(s).
    4. The accompanying adult is a relative or family friend and is in possession of a notarized letter stating that he/she has the permission of the child's parents and/or legal guardians to take the child to/from an international destination(s).

      Note: In addition, notarized letters must include the destination(s), the duration of the trip, and must be dated within 30 days of the commencement of the itinerary.

      Hawaiian Airlines recommends that the accompanying adult ALWAYS have in possession a notarized letter stating that he/she has the permission of the child's parents and/or legal guardians to take the child to/from an international destination(s).
  5. EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION
    Children traveling under the age of 18 accompanied but without both parents must provide HA with emergency contact information.
