Chef Bev is acclaimed for being one of the 12 original founders of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine movement that is responsible for island menus using fresh, local ingredients rather than importing them from out-of-state. Her culinary style features down home menus bursting with island fresh ingredients and flavors. Chef Bev not only designs our First Class menu; she also creates our economy class menu as well.
In early 2003, Chef Bev was named a recipient of Honolulu magazine's Hale 'Aina award. One of the most coveted restaurant awards in the Islands, the Hale 'Aina is based on the opinions of Honolulu magazine readers….and they certainly have a high opinion of Bev.
Chef Bev was voted Best Chef on Maui 2009 by Maui News for her work at her own restaurant, Hali'imaile General Store, on Maui, where she has been serving her version of the internationally renowned cuisine since 1988. She also owns Joe's Bar & Grill on Maui.
