All About Full Fare Advertising

Our prices may look a little different…
The Department of Transportation has mandated that effective January 26, 2012, government taxes and fees be included in all our advertised pricing. This includes online advertisements, our websites and all email offers.

What It Means
It may look like like fares have gone up, but the price you end up paying is exactly the same. In the past, we would have displayed these taxes and fees before you purchased, in a way that let you see the base fare that you pay us, plus the additional taxes and fees that go to state and federal government. Now, the government has mandated that we must include those taxes—including the September 11th Security fee and others—in our ads and in any fare you see displayed on our website. Those taxes can add up to almost 20% of the base fare in many cases.

We think it’s important for you to understand what goes into your airline ticket, and will strive to continue to provide you with great value and transparency within the framework of these new rules.

What's Not Included
Fees for optional or additional services are not included in the new pricing, and will be charged at the airport ticket counter or online check-in. For more information on our optional fee’s please visit this page: http://www.hawaiianair.com/bag-fees/.
